What prerequisites need satisfying when migrating user passwords?
I'm trying to copy users from test machine A to test machine B, but I'm not getting anywhere. What are the prerequisites?
- You need a registered version of our software, i.e., you need a valid license key. The user password migration feature is disabled in the test version.
- You need to check that the shared ADMIN$ directory is present on the source and destination machines. If it isn't there, use the Microsoft Admin Tools or IDEAL Administration to create it: Computers / Shares / Advanced / New; enter ADMIN$ in the Name field then Apply.
- You have to disable your Antivirus Software on the source and destination server.
- You have to verify if the DEP is disabled on your destination serveur (See: http://www.pointdev.com/en/faq/faq-ideal-administration-password-lsass.exe-restart-id-377.html).
