Why printers are not visible on remote stations?
When I open the printers of a remote computer, they are not displayed and the list remains empty.
What can I do?
- First, you should check if the "Print Spooler / Spooler" service is up and running on the remote computer.
- If this is already the case, and if the computer runs Windows 2003 Server or higher OS, check in the Group Ploicy Editor if the print spooler accepts remote client connections. Follow these steps:
- Start menu, Execute, "gpedit.msc"
- Browse to "Computer Configuration" / "Administrative Templates" / "Printers".
- In the right pane, double-clic on the policy"Allow Print Spooler to accept client connections".
- Enable this setting, then Apply.
- Then restart on the remote computer the "Print Spooler / Spooler" service in order to take changes into account.
