How can I set a permanent RustDesk connection password on a client computer?
I would like to be able to connect to client workstations on my network using the same password on each one. This would allow me to connect even if no one is at the keyboard to accept my connection. Is this possible? If so, how?
Yes, that is entirely feasible.
In IDEAL REMOTE, it is possible to configure a permanent RustDesk connection password on a client computer in order to allow remote control without requiring any user interaction.
This procedure only needs to be done once, during the first installation and initial remote control session.
The steps are as follows :
- install RustDesk remotely from IDEAL REMOTE on the client computer
- remember to check Only allow administrators to use RustDesk so that the password cannot be changed by the user of the client computer
- establish a first remote control session
- launch the RustDesk application on the remote computer
- open RustDesk settings, then go to the Security section
- click on Unlock Security Settings
- set a permanent password for incoming connections
Once this permanent password is configured, administrators can remotely connect to the client computer :
- with or without the user being present at the workstation
- without requiring manual validation from the user
Since RustDesk usage can be restricted to local administrators, this configuration ensures :
- IT support only access
- no unauthorized inter-user connections
- secure remote control compliant with professional best practices
