• 09/14/2013 - New features in version 14.0
  • Active Directory Search
    • From the right view and the "Active Directory Network" tab, you can now search in the Active Directory (button "Search, "In Active Directory"). You can search for and manage objects of type Computer, User, Contact, Group, Organizational Unit and define multiple search filters.
    • The "Advanced" tab allows you to perform a search based on Active Directory attributes.
  • WMI Manager
    • The "WMI Manager" option (right click one ore more computers) allows to access to different classes and WMI properties.
    • You can execute a WMI method on ore or more computers by specifying the required parameters.
    • This dialog box has been redesigned.
  • Computer Properties
    • It is now possible to remotely rename a computer using WMI: right click on a computer, "Properties", "Information" tab, then click the "Rename Computer" button.
    • The IP settings (address mode, IP address, subnet mask and gateway) can also be changed remotely using WMI: right click on a computer, "Properties", "Network" tab, then click on the "Action" button, "Modify IP settings". Possibility to set multiple IP addresses or gateways to the same network card.
  • User / Logon Hours
    
    • Fixed a problem with time zone applied on the domain controller that results in wrong logon hours for the user ("User properties" window, "Lgon Hours" tab).

  • Active Directory Network
    • Active Directory attributes can be modified using the Active Directory Editor from the left explorer view under the "Active Directory attributes" node or from the main view in the "Active Directory Network > Attributes of the selection" tab.
    • The management of Quick Links in the main view allows you to store the path of an organizational unit or container for easy access.
  • Remote control
    • TightVNC remote control and Remote Desktop can be launched from the computer Properties window ("Control" tab).
    • Fixed a problem with TightVNC service that may occur when client disconnects.
  • User / Logon Hours
    • Fixed a problem with time zone applied on the domain controller that results in wrong logon hours for the user ("User properties" window, "Lgon Hours" tab).
  • User groups
    • You can now rename a local user group.
  • Software Registration

• 05/29/2013 - New features in version 13.5
  • Active Directory Network:
    • New "Active Directory Network" tab in the Explorer view on the left side and the main view of the software. You can list and manage your objects from the AD (organizational units, computers, users, contacts, user groups, containers...)
    • You can configure the AD servers and the displayed attributes for the different objects from the "Tools" menu, "Options", "Active Directory".
    • The "Active Directory Network" tab is divided into two tabs in the main view. The first one allows you to list the objects and browse through the AD. The second one displays the different attributes of the objects that are selected in the first tab.
  • TightVNC Remote control:
    • It is now possible to automatically disable the Aero interface and transparency effects when connecting with TightVNC.
    • Performance and speed greatly improved for Windows Vista remote computers, 7, Server 2008.
    • The Aero interface is automatically restored if necessary, at the end of the remote control.

  • Export / Import settings
    • You can export your software configuration (tabs, favorites, general configuration,database ...) then restore these settings locally or on another computer (File menu, Export / Import Setting).
  • TightVNC Remote control
    • Troubleshoot compatibility / configuration : added an option to start automatically the RemoteRegistry service on the remote host when connecting via TightVNC (TightVNC Settings, Connection Profile tab).
    • Added an option to configure the local shape of the cursor when remote controlling (TightVNC Settings, Connection tab)

  • Displayed properties:
    • It is now possible to display any Active Directory attribute for your computers in the right view or in the left view.
      Tools menu, Options, Displayed properties, AD button.
  • TightVNC Remote control:
    • Troubleshoot compatibility issues with VNC. We have added a feature in the TightVNC Settings (version 2.X) to automatically stop on the remote computer a former VNC (WinVNC) server running in service or user mode. This option can be disabled if any of your computers does not run another version of VNC.
    • Manual control: for a quick remote control, you can now directly enter a computer name or an IP address from the menu "Control", "Manually control".

  • TSE Remote Desktop:

  • Chat:
    • The new "Chat" feature allows to talk in writing with the remote user : right click on one or more computers, then "Discussion", "Chat".
    • Chat feature can be configured from the menu "Tools", "Options", "Chat". Default port (5902).
    • The "Send Message" feature has been moved to the "Discussion" menu.
  • TightVNC:
    • Now you can take screenshots of the remote computer by clicking on the camera icon from the TightVNC toolbar. The configuration is accessible from "Tools", "TightVNC Settings", "Tools", "Screenshot" menu. You can for example configure the default save path for screenshots or the automatic recording.
    • The Chat option has been also added to the TightVNC toolbar.
  • Computer selection:
    • The dialog box for selecting a list of computers has been redesigned.
    • Selection by Network Neighbourhood retrieves computers of the selected domain when clicking on the search button.
    • Loading a list of computers via a file has been simplified. Now you can directly select recently used files from a list.
  • Licenses management:
    • The software now requires a license activation via Internet to be used once the evaluation period is over. To do this, cut and paste your license key into the Registration Key box, click on Apply. Then the software prompts you to Activate your key.
    • Simplified licensing mode: one license for each administrator station. The number of domains, servers and client workstations are not limited.
    • Important: Internet activation is only effective for licenses purchased after September 4, 2012.

  • History of connections:
    • New tab allowing to display the history of TightVNC and TSE connections on your network computers.
    • Remote control can be automatically relaunched on a computer by using a single-click.
    • Ability to filter the history by type of connections or by date: "Today", "Yesterday," "In the last 7 days", "This week", "Last week", "This month", "Last month", or a date range.
    • History can be individual or shared by several users of the software.
  • Task Manager:
    • Scheduled Tasks added: You can list and manage (create, delete, execute, copy) scheduled tasks to one or more computers...

  • Search in lists
    • A new window allows you to search for information in the Computers, Users, VPN and Favorites lists. You can search for part or whole text or also the beginning / the end of a text. The search can be case sensitive.
    • The search window can be opened by clicking on the "Search" button or by right clicking a column header then "Search".
  • Remote Desktop
    • It is now possible to define configurations for the Remote Desktop: "Tools" menu, "Remote Desktop Settings". You can enter for example the user's name and password so that this session will be automatically opened on the remote host when remote controlling, or also set the screen resolution that will be applied.
    • A specific configuration can be used by right clicking one or more computers, then "Taking remote control", "Remote control with the configuration", from the "Remote control" group, then choose the right configuration.
  • TightVNC
    • You can force the use of a TightVNC configuration: right click one or more computers, then "Taking remote control", "Remote control with the configuration", from the "TightVNC" group, then choose the right configuration.
  • Browser view
    • Improvement of the usability in the left view: a tab system allows to list your network,  your computer, your VPN objects, your Favorites and your Tools.
  • "Google" search
    • New "Search on Google" option added in the menus of the services, processes, software, hotfixes and licenses windows. This option allows you to automatically search for this information on the Google search engine.

  • Database Inventory
    • IDEAL Administration now integrates the display of the database tables (MS Access or SQL Server) : Inventory menu, View Database. Therefore it is no more necessary to install MS Access to read the result of the various inventories.
    • Possibility of applying a filter (a SQL query) on a table to refine the result set. This query can be created via the query wizard or it can be manually written for an advanced use or for more specific needs.

  • Export lists to HTML format
    • In addition to CSV format, data of a list can be now exported to a table via an HTML report.

  • TightVNC

  • "Computers" tab
    • New icon on a computer that means access denied due to insufficient rights.
    • The "red cross" icon still means that the computer is not visible in the Windows Network Neighborhood and is not reachable.

  • TightVNC Remote control
    • Remote control tool now integrates version 2.X of TightVNC which is fully compatible and optimized for latest OS including Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008 and Windows 7.
    • This new version offers a better reliability and performance with these systems, and considerably increases display speed when remote controlling. It is also possible to open / close / change a user session without cutting the connection.
    • 64-bit OS support.
    • This new version allows obviously to remote control your Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 2003 computers.
    • Reduction of conflicts with various VNC servers (UltraVNC, RealVNC, ...) that may be installed on remote computers.
    • The previous version of TightVNC remote control (version 1.X) is kept for compatibility reasons with Windows NT 4.0.
    • Possibility of creating/modify/remove or enable/disable a TightVNC 2.X and/or TightVNC 1.X configuration.
    • Possibility to define the configurations to be used by order of priority.

  • Database Inventory
    • New way of functioning : the data present in database are not automatically deleted when launching the next inventory. This allows to progressively populate your tables by updating the data retrieved on you computers selection. If a computer is unreachable at this precise time, the field "Last_Connection_Failure" indicates the date and time at which the connection error occurs.
    • If needed, the data of tables can be deleted by clicking on the button designed for that purpose.
    • New "Network drives" inventory.
  • Terminal Services Sessions
    • The new "Terminal Services Sessions" option allows by right clicking one or several computers to list current console and/or RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) sessions.
    • Possibility to disconnect a user / close a session / shutdown or restart a computer by using Terminal Services features.
    • This window can also be opened from the dialog box "Shutdown a computer" in order to check for running user sessions before stopping the machine.

    • New "Network drive" tab in the computer's properties dialog box (right click on a computer, then "Properties").

  • Security Center

  • The Security Center manages to protect computers on your network. You can remotely access the properties and configure Windows Firewall, add/modify/delete rules, or configure User Account Control (UAC).

  • WMI

  • It is now possible to display any property of a WMI class in the right view or in the left view: Tools menu, Options, Displayed properties tab.
  • WMI classes added manually in the WMI configuration (Tools menu, Options, WMI, Configure) can be exported to database with the Database Exporter tool. Database Exporter is used to configure and program exports to databases (Inventory menu, Database Exporter).

  • Others

  • Contacts management (Active Directory): contacts from AD are displayed in the container Domain users in the left view, and in the users list in the right view. You can add/modify/delete a contact
  • Hotfixes management: hotfixes installed on a Windows Vista, Windows 2008 Server or Windows 7 computer can be displayed : Right click on a computer, Properties, Hotfixes tab. Exporting hotfixes in database has also been fixed.
