How to copy user account passwords between Windows servers or stations?

What prerequisites need satisfying when migrating user passwords?

I'm trying to copy users from test machine A to test machine B, but I'm not getting anywhere. What are the prerequisites?

  1. You need a registered version of our software, i.e., you need a valid license key. The user password migration feature is disabled in the test version.
  2. You need to check that the shared ADMIN$ directory is present on the source and destination machines. If it isn't there, use the Microsoft Admin Tools or IDEAL Administration to create it: Computers / Shares / Advanced / New; enter ADMIN$ in the Name field then Apply.
  3. You have to disable your Antivirus Software on the source and destination server.
  4. You have to verify if the DEP is disabled on your destination serveur (See: http://www.pointdev.com/en/faq/faq-ideal-administration-password-lsass.exe-restart-id-377.html).
