Network errors usually encountered in our software

Why do I have an error on my installation report?

Why do I have an error on my installation report?

Why my installation phase fails?

The installation report is generated by the distribution server when connecting to computers of your selection for installing distribution agents and copying files needed for the execution of actions.

This report shows the successes and failures, step by step, showing a clear and detailed message indicating the origin of the problem.

For the execution goes smoothly:

The account running agents must have administrative rights on the target computers

  1. In the case of a local account (entered as. \ Administrator), ensure that the password is the same for each position.
  2. In the case of remote execution, check that the account has access permissions to the shared directory.
  3. If an antivirus is present on the target computers, make sure it does not prevent the execution of "IDispatchAgent" and "IDispatchAgentINT" services.

Voici une série d’erreurs que vous pouvez rencontrer :

"Unable to connect to [COMPUTER NAME] [[51] Windows cannot find the network path. Verify that the network path is correct and the destination computer is not busy or turned off. If Windows still cannot find the network path, contact your network administrator. ] "

"Unable to connect to [COMPUTER NAME] [[53] The network path was not found.]"

In this case, the target computer was not found by the distribution server. The computer may be turned off, disconnected from the network or the computer name is incorrect.

"[1069] The service did not start due to a logon failure."

In this case, the distribution server finds the target computer, has permission to access the computer but the account used to start the agent "IDispatchAgent" on the target computer does not have the rights to start a service. The most common mistake is the use of a startup account which has no "Log on as a service" rights on the target computer.

« Unable to connect to [NOM ORDINATEUR] : [[5] Access is denied. ] »

In this case, the distribution server finds the target computer but has no permission to access the computer. The most common mistake is the use of a startup account which is not administrator of the target computer. In the case of a local account (entered as. \ Administrator), ensure that the password is the same for each computer.

If you entered the account as Domain_Name1\ Administrator, check that the computer is on the specified domain.

Also remember to check the prerequisites for the installation goes smoothly and your network configuration:

How to administrate a Windows XP station?

How to administrate a Windows Vista station?

What port numbers does your software need?

Many computers show a red cross: why?

"Can not assign user / password to IDispatchAgent [The account name is invalid or does not exist, or the password is invalid for the account name specified. (0x421)] "

The startup account of the distribution agent does not exist, or the password is invalid. In the case of a local account (entered as. \ Administrator), ensure that the password is the same for each computer. If you have entered the account as Domain_Name1 \ Administrator, check that the computer is on the specified domain.

"Unable to copy file [\ \ COMP1 \ C $ \ File.txt] to [\ \ TARGET_COMP\ ADMIN $ \ IDispatchAgent \ Scripts]: [The specified file was not found. (0x2)] "

In this case, one of the files needed to execute an action was not found. Make sure the file exists at the specified location.
